ROCK / SWAY - porcelain that moves. Small, rounded vessels tip and tilt with the forces thrown at them, but return upright to their strong core. This series developed initially during 2020. Happy alone and joyful in jingling groups of two, three or more. Polished naked exteriors with colourful glazed interiors.
GROWN UP - this series of vessels has carved, scarred naked exteriors. The carving in my work marks, shapes and reshapes the clay body, akin to our life (experiences, memories, encounters) marking and shaping us. These vessels retain colourful, shiny ‘hearts’.
HOLD / STILL (tall) - a series of upright porcelain vessels that stand tall. Calm and meditative, these mindful vessels have been likened to nests. Carved naked exteriors with glazed interiors.
HOLD / STILL (globe) - a series of porcelain vessels that pause to rest. Able to stop and embrace the moment. Wide ranging in size from petite to much larger. Carved naked exteriors with glazed interiors.
GATHER - this series of porcelain vessels hold and contain. Meditatively embracing all that needs support. Carved naked exteriors with glazed interiors.
NEBULA - we are but specks on a ball of gas and dust. These porcelain vessels attempt to recreate a ‘nebula’ using glaze & glass on the interior of the polished & carved exterior.
KEEPERS - containers for memories or secrets. To house and keep safe the private and personal, be they thoughts, ideas or items.

E Q U A L vessels differ in shape, size, decoration and firing methods. The one constant feature is that they are all bottle-like vessels.. Variation 3 - carved porcelain vessels adorned with solid silver strand that shifts and pulls when fired. Naked exteriors with transparent glazed interiors.

Variation 4 - blue and white porcelain wheel thrown to create swirls of movement. Clear glazed interiors, diamond-polished naked exteriors. Variation 5 are robust vessels that have ‘survived the fire’. Burnished grogged porcelain vessels with Terra Sigillata applied prior to bisque firing. Wood fired in foil saggars with a range of metal and organic materials creating the surface markings.
